Doreen Kelly Named Board President
Wiawaka is pleased to announce that Doreen Kelly has been elected President of the Board of Directors of Wiawaka Center for Women. Doreen is replacing long-time President Peg Mackey, who has faithfully served Wiawaka for over a decade.
“I am thrilled and honored to be Board President after having the opportunity to serve 2 years on the Board. I have been actively supporting the Development Committee planning several of our special events including our annual Ladies of the Lake Luncheon. Wiawaka is such an amazing place of empowerment, honoring tradition while embracing the future. Wiawaka is a local gem on beautiful Lake George. I encourage people to stop in for a tour, spend the day/or an overnight, take a class, participate in a retreat, come and spend time to enjoy the beauty and history of Wiawaka” Kelly said.
The Board and staff welcome Doreen into her new role and thank Peg for her dedicated service. Peg, who will be remaining on the Board as Past President, said – “It has been my privilege to serve on the Wiawaka Board since 2004 and especially, to have worked with so many talented women and men during this time. I look forward to continuing to work with and, to support the organization and mission.”
The Board is always looking for interested individuals to serve on committees, help with events and possibly join the Board. Please contact Doreen for more information by emailing her at email@example.com.
